Established in 1886, the Blackstone-Ipswich Cambrian Choir is reputedly Queensland's longest continuously performing choir with a long and proud history. The senior choir is enthusiastically conducted by the very talented Sandra Milliken. Our Accompanist is Katrina May.
Repertoire ranges through modern selections, musicals, opera, choral to sacred works such as Haydn's Creation. The choir is available for hire for special events. For photos of recent events, visit our Gallery

Membership
The choir is a non-auditioned ensemble and membership is open to persons 18 years and over. It is our aim that choristers make singing a lifestyle choice and progress from the Juniors through the Youth Choir and on to Senior choir. Members should attend 80% of rehersals to qualify for performance.
Fees: $70 annual membership ($50 concession) + uniform expenses + gold coin donation for music library at rehearsals. Are you interested in joining our choir?
Commitments
Choristers are encouraged to be involved in every performance. A variety of performances are given throughout the year including: an overnight singing retreat held in February, a concert in March, Queensland Eisteddfod during the Easter weekend, Theatre Restaurant, Musical, plus Christmas and other mid-year performances.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals are on Monday evenings from 7.30 till 9.45pm at the Cambrian Centre, South Station Road, Booval. Occasionally extra rehersals are called for special occasions.
Uniform
Women
The prescribed blue Dress is available from the choir (a fee is payable). Shoes to be pewter court shoes. All members wear the silver choir badge for performances.
Men
For performances gentlemen wear a black dinner suit with a long sleeved white shirt. The blue vest, bow tie and handkerchief are available from choir costuming. Shoes to be black and with plain black socks.All members wear the silver choir badge for performances.
